So much elegance and glamour was on show at this year’s Golden Globes and Nicole Baxter, lead stylist at Matthew Curtis Hair Design was watching the red carpet to pick her favourite hairstyles and show us how it can be done:
Effortlessly glamorous faux bob
Step 1 : Use a diva pro session wand to tong hair and get a loose texture
Step 2: Backcomb through the back of the head to provide support and lift and roll lengths of hair on itself and pin to nape of neck creating a faux bob shape making sure to keep one
side pulled back behind the ear
step 3 : make sure you create a soft finish around the face
Sleek, glamorous waved look
Step 1: create a centre parting in the hair
Step 2: tong hair using a medium sized barrel tong, making sure
all the curls are facing the same direction.
Step 3 using a mason pearson brush, brush out the curls
in to a wave pattern and tuck behind ears.
Finish with a high gloss shine spray
Soft, textured updo
Step 1: tong hair to achieve texture, use salt spray to add to the texture
Step 2 : run hands through hair to separate curls
Step 3 : pull back in to a looose twist and secure with pins.
Make sure to keep top of the hair lose
Step 4: pull out small pieces of the hair round the face to create an undone texture
Texture, low ponytail
Step 1: spray the hair with wella eimi ocean spritz
and blow dry in, creating a soft beach texture.
Step 2: create a centre parting in the hair and
backcomb slightly at the crown.
Step 3: pull into a low ponytail, keeping the texture
you've created and tie with a band or bungee.
Step 4: wrap a small piece of the hair from the ponytail around the
band to hide. Then pull a few pieces of hair from the
front to give a loose undone effect.
